It seems that Osomatsu-san has no problem bringing even the most ordinary magazine or product in the spotlight for all to buy. Smile I certainly wouldn't mind a Season 2 of it.

When something is this ridiculously popular that may be a hint for me to check it out. At least so I can start telling them apart.

Let's face it, not making a season two would be like saying "No thanks, we don't want any more money".
That said, I don't mind waiting so they've got time to come up with another load of crazy situations. I wouldn't be surprised if we get more before the year's out, though.

While it is in Japan, it really has been very big in the west. That could be down to it being part of series that until now has had no exposure in the west.

Osomatsu-san is literally saving anime.

Now season 2 when? They should at least announce one otherwise the hype will die down and people will start losing interest in it like Durarara.

And potentially make a new season that's not as strong as the first.

I now can't get around checking this one out. So much praise for those weird looking guys. But then again, Gash bell also looked like kindergarden level entertainment but turned out to be one of the most badass Shonen Titles ever and still remains on my top 5. Probably always will. So let's not judge the potato chips package by its cover and give it a taste

That has been a common complaint about Japanese TV lately:

"Why Japanese TV shows have become boring"

  • One final point we’d like to add is that unlike in American television production, very few prime-time fictional series in Japan receive more than a one-season contract at a time. A typical season lasts 13 weeks, after which the show’s performance will be judged, and if it makes financial sense, producers will commission a second season, which may not be ready to air until years later. This stilted production schedule makes it almost impossible to craft the kind of sustained, complex narratives that Western viewers have enjoyed in shows such as Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, or The Shield.

That's a handy excerpt and link~.

It's definitely not a very logical cycle to be used for everything.

As for Osomatsu-san, here's to hoping the wait for a second season isn't long~.
