I'm actually looking forward to this. When I first heard their music it was awkward, but as I listened to it more it kinda grew on me. I'm an all-rock fan, whether its metal or alt, etc its fun to listen to. I wish I still lived in Seattle so I could go see them in concert.

This is just be being an old cynic, but this band seems like a prime example of like...something being popular for the sake of being weird? Like I almost get William Hung from American Idol vibes (though I am sure the members of babymetal have more...."talent," or whatever).

In 2014, Hatsune Miku made her late night talk show debut

Ugh...that long ago already?

As for BABY METAL...not a big fan of most their stuff personally and I have issues with their vocal talent but they have their thing that really no one else is doing (little kids+metal) so it's hard to really compare.

Well the Hatsune Miku debacle went horribly, in my opinion. So I hope this goes better because I really do like them. But why do all these musical acts insist on debuting on the Late Show? It's a weird combo, in my opinion. Anyway, hope this goes well...but I'm not holding my breath.

Surely you aren't doubting the lead singer's talent? Suzuka has a great pair of lungs on her.

Oh crap that's TONIGHT!!

I'm gonna try and make it home to check it out. But I doubt I'll get to watch it because I'm at mom's this week and chances are she's not sharing. If I was at my house I probably wouldn't make it home in time. Well, there's always the concert in May.

Why would it show on the Late Show? Colbert's taste in music and performing acts is even more varied than Letterman's. The show regularly books acts that seemingly come from left field for a U.S audience.

The show's website keeps five days worth of free streams. If you miss it live, catch it the next day. I haven't watched a Late Show on TV since the first episode.

I can guarantee you that you'll be able to find it on Youtube or something tomorrow morning. Somewhere on the internet will have the video.

They performed at Wembley Arena here in the UK over the weekend and the show has had great reviews from pretty much everywhere. & their 2nd album is currently at #7 in the UK charts which is the highest chart placing for a Japanese band in the UK. I picked up their 2nd album yesterday and I have been loving it. People say they're a gimmick/flash in the pan but I've been a fan for two years now & think they're only getting better. Looking forward to hopefully watching this performance online soon.

Agreed. I think she would be great for a less gimmicky metal band. Perhaps Marty Friedman should make this happen.

Everybody has a gimmick. Ex: KISS

The actual musicians who play the instruments are the true stars

Actually I got mom to tape it. I stayed up to watch it but of course fell asleep. Thank the lawd, that I DVR'd it. It was fun. But that was it. Nothing more. 'Gimme Chocolate', which was perfect for the show. Well hope I'll be ready for the concert in May in NYC.
