Punie-chan's Ohwada Turns Live-Action Mabuyer Into Manga (Updated)
posted on by Ko Ransom
The official website for the Okinawan live-action tokusatsu (special effects) hero television show Ryujin Mabuyer has revealed that a manga adaptation of the series by Hideki Ohwada (Great Magical Gap, Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku) will begin in Kadokawa's Newtype Ace magazine on June 8.
The original series, which began in 2008, tells the story of Kanai, an Okinawan man who fights as the hero Ryujin Mabuyer. Kanai fights again the "Evil Corps," a group who attempts to steal the Mabui Stones, legendary stones that protect Okinawan culture.
Both Ohwada's Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku mahjong manga series as well as his Great Magical Gap magical girl series have received anime adaptations.
