So I just finished watching tonights episode, for the second time, and just this time realized the episode was rated TV-MA. Did [as] switch over to the Platinum Editions? I remember my "Perfect Collection" had "12+" printed on the box, and don't remember any words needing to be bleeped out. Yet while watching this episode, I heard constant bleeps. I don't know what episode number this was, but it was the episode where spoiler[we first see that Eva Unit 01 has a "core", that little red thing that must be destroyed on Angels in order to get rid of them, and the ending is where Eva 01 eats the angel]. Does anyone know the words that were bleeped out? Is this the first time Eva got a TV-MA rating on [as]?

Last week's episode was TV-MA as well.
And DVD age ratings != CN age ratings.

TV show ratings are arbitrary. One group may think it's appropriate for 12+ and others 18+. For example, the Eva movies are shown on Starz with a TV-14 rating.

I find it funny that they bleeped out a German curse, and I see that they aren't allowed to say "goddamn" anymore, even though The Boondocks use it about 50 times an episode.

I think Unit 1 vs Unit 4 played a big, bloodly part of it. Sure they could have cut back on blood, but that would make people mad and we sure in hell can't have that. But it is good to see TV-MA on the station that aimmed at kids and teens.

It's short for [adult swim].

Hahahaha, as for the bleeps, I guess this will end the "they could do it on The Boondocks so they can do it on another show" argument once and for all... Perhaps it's because Boondocks is always TV-MA and Eva is often PG. I don't know. I didn't expect it to get censored. Anime hyper I wonder what the story behind it is.

Note, however, that Boondocks wasn't the only show on [as] to say "goddamn"; the only show I know that verbalized it, but it was written on a glove in Ghost in the Shell: SAC in a Catcher in the Rye reference.

Actually they can't anymore. They said it a lot in the early season, but now they've begun bleeping it.

I thought they said "Got damn"? That's how most shows get over that censor.
