February's just about done. So guess it's time to add up my spending.
Eternal Alice - $36.71 Ghost in the Shell 2.0 - $7.08 Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie - $53.74 February 2023 Total: $97.53 YTD Total: $363.02 2022 Total at This Point: $310.81 Not as much spent this month since I'm trying to free up shelf space for upcoming pre-orders for March. But likely to also be cutting back on my spending for a bit as unfortunately, I'm getting laid off from my job after this week. Will have to see how things fare in the coming weeks. |

Sorry to hear about the impending lay off, Ggultra2764. Hopefully, you'll get something else soon. I fear for the viability of the North American anime distribution industry if you are forced to cut your spending back for too long.

I found out about the layoff a couple weeks ago, so at least have taken advantage of the window to start prepping for the job hunt. Will see what comes my way in the coming weeks. As for my anime spending, I can be thrifty if I need to. If you've followed my spending in recent months, been more in the habit of buying Discotek titles since they're among the cheaper distributors I can get anime from since they've embraced the SD Blu-Ray route for a number of longer titles and are able to cram a full 12 or 13 episode anime in high-def on a single disc. |

What's the visual quality like on a disc like that? I'm currently watching the Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress BD and the first disc has 9 episodes on it. Visual quality seems pretty good to me.

At least as far as HD releases go, video quality is quite good with the 12 or 13 episode TV anime they release on single discs. Quad-layer Blu-Rays can hold as much as 120 GB of data if I recall. So the mentioned one-cour titles at 1080p could easily be stored without compromising their audio or visual quality, unlike DVDs having to resort to compression to store just eight episodes of standard-def which I noticed made the quality looking a bit rough with Funi's release of the 2001 Fruits Basket anime. |

March is almost done and don't see myself buying anything else this month. So time to add up what I spent this month:

Still have my shelves fully stocked for anime and being among the unemployed again, attempting to get thrifty where I can as far as purchases go. See what the next month has to bring. |
