spoiler[wtf was up with that ending essently the whole "I love you even thu you brutally slaughtered my family" and they left it open for a sequal OAV ie a wrap up episode] other then that I loved it. I hope someone gets the rights to the Manga |

I'm still waiting up on the usual fansub group who does this (I heard pretty good reactions from the ending), and I'm plotting evil ways to get that other fansub group who made the subs all ghetto.

I am one who actually watched 4 or 5 episode of this, found it not so appealing, and turned away. I can only comment based on the 4 or 5 eps I have seen, hee hee.
The violence and blood was, for the lack of a better word, gratuitous. And disturbing. I also get the feeling that this story somehow legitimizes or condones violence for the sake of revenge. "Look, this girl goes on rampages and kill everything" "yes, but what can she do, she is but the product of her environment" That's what I would infer. I can't say this type, since I can't conjure up any other similar stories, but this story feels wrong to me. It feels wrong the way people explain away atrocities is wrong. And the girl is like a wild animal she way she acts when angry and reacts when spurned. She is capable of intelligence but currently incapable of love because she hasn't been loved, of which she probably yearns. Somehow the guy would help her change all that and she will have learnt the value to be a human and to treat everyone with compassion in the end, but not without great sacrifice. If this is indeed how the story plays out, then it offers nothing new to the table. I am probably shooting from my broken hip, but this story just didn't feel right. I was a little disgusted by it. |

damn it I was hoping the name in the sub was just a bad joke. Well f*ck atleast the group that shall not be named is only 2 eps behind. heh ill probly still get the ghetto one i love parody subs |

And I've been hearing stuff that spoiler[the manga surpasses the anime by a lot since the anime had quite of bit of romantic cheesy stuff in the end. I mean that's some forgivness Kouta made. Man, I heard an Elfen Lied OVA is coming so hopefully it'll have a better closure.] It won't stop me from buying the DVD.

yeah well conisdering spoiler[ a shadow that clearly resemble's Nyuu/Lucyre is shown at the end in the doorway area not to mention the Head of the research group being one of them forgot how to spell what Lucy/Nana and 35 are.] They left enough of a plot open to do a sequal OAV.
