Wall Street Journal Looks at Demon Wife Diaries

Like Train Man Before It, blog based property now a TV series, book and manga.
The Wall Street Journal has published an article about "Demon Wife Diaries" and other "Blooks" (Books based on Blogs, ie: Train Man). Demon Wife Diaries, now a book, manga, video-game and drama (and soon to be a movie), is based on a blog by a man who was complaining online about hi "Demon Wife."
According to the article, publishers like Kodansha scour the Internet (or hire firms to do it for them), searching for potential blogs to be adapted into media properties.
Blogging is more popular in Japan than in North America; roughly 20% of the Japanese population read blogs, and 6% actually blog, compared to roughly 4% in the United States. Since the beginning of 2004, more than 300 books based on blogs, home pages, and forums have been published in Japan.
