Releasing Classic and Literary Manga for more Mature Readers
Viz Signature, the new imprint for classic and literary manga geared towards more mature and sophisticated readers, will launch in February with Naoki Urasawa's Monster and Takao Saitō's Golgo 13.
Viz plans to have 5 or 6 titles in their signature line by summer 2006.
Viz's publicity director, Evelyne Dubocq, told Publisher's Weekly, "This line will reach a more sophisticated audience in the U.S.," adding, "The feel of the books is more grown up, more refined. The content is significantly more artistic."
Other titles attached to the signature line include re-releases of Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond and Osamu Tezuka's Phoenix.
