Conan and Kiki Married

Manga writer Gōshō Aoyama and voice actress Minami Takayama are a married couple. Aoyama is the creator of the Detective Conan" series and Takayama is the voice of Conan in the Detective Conan series, as well as Kiki in Kiki's Delivery Service; she is also half of the J-pop group "TWO-MIX."

According to friends, Takayama "reverse-proposed" to Gosho back in March, and the couple submitted the required marriage documents to the municipal offices on May 5th, Takayama's birthday. The two
first met over 10 years ago when Takayama voiced the main character of YAIBA, another animated series based on one of Gosho's works. After seeing each other at various events and parties over the course of the
years they began dating at the beginning of 2004. There are currently no plans for a formal ceremony or reception. Nikkan Sports also adds that Takayama is not pregnant.

This isn't the first time that a manga writer and a voice actor have been married. Mamoru Nagano, creator of The Five Star Stories and Maria Kawamura (Lachesis from the animated version of F.S.S.) are married. Youichi Takahashi, the manga-ka for Captain Tsubasa, and Akari Hibino, the voice actress for the main character in that series, were married at one point as well, although they are currently divorced.
