Otaku Exhibit in NYC

Starting this Friday, April 8th, and running until July 24th, The Japan Society Gallery in New York City will be hosting Little Boy: The Arts of Japan's Exploding Subculture. Named after the atomic bomb droped on Hiroshima in 1945, the exhibition looks at the Otaku culture that developped in postwar Japan.
The exhibition will feature works by Hideaki Anno, Chiho Aoshima, Chinatsu Ban, Fujiko F. Fujio, Hideaki Kawashima, Izumi Kato, Shigeru Komatsuzaki, Kunikata Mahomi, Leiji Matsumoto, Jun Miura, "Mr.," Tōru Narita, Taro Okamoto, Yuki Ōshima, Katsuhiro Ōtomo, Shoji Otomo , Aya Takano , Tsubaki Noboru, Kenji Yanobe, Nara Yoshitomo, and Murakami will be exhibited. Additionally, the billingual program guide will feature articles by Murakami, Matsui Midori, Kaichirō Morikawa, Toshio Okada, Noi Sawagari and others. There will also be a set of lectures by Murakami, Noi Sawaragi and others.
