Miyazaki Art Exhibition in Paris
posted on by George Phillips
There will be Hayao Miyazaki art exhibition at the Monnaie de Paris from December 1st, 2004 through March 13th, 2005. Miyazaki and French artist Moebius will be presenting a combined 300 pieces of art.
Translated from the Miyazaki-Moebius art exhibition website:
Dec 1st - March 13th 2005
For the first time in the world, two major artists reveal their personal drawing collections.
Mobeius-Miyazaki will soon be joining to exhibit more than 300 works.
For ages, artists in training have been on journeys around the world: the cultural exchange was the inexhaustible source of their renewal. Mobeius is French, Miyazaki Japanese. These two "world creators" have each other's tools in their field of expression, bringing a highly singular vision that has reshaped the nature of animation and comics around the world. The path they have laid for future generations is, from all points of view, considerable.
Two cultures, two traits for one same heart.
Although separeted by thousands of miles and with radically different cultures, these two creators discovered and appreciated each other's works before they even knew each other because their vocation, which finds each particular application, revolves around a true spirit of community. Joined together, Moebius and Hayao Miyazaki each seek a renewal in the drawing world, the use of multiple graphic techniques, all displaying technical prowess in animation.
This exposition works on many levels that will enchant from the smallest to the most profound.
Tickets may be purchased from the site for 9 Euro (appx. $11 USD), and children under age 6 may attend for free.
