Sequel on the way
It was officially announced yesterday (July 17th) that a sequel to Steamboy is in the works and is planned to be released in two to three years (whereas the first movie took over nine years to produce).
It is hoped that the main voice actor and actress, Anne Suzuki and Manami Konishi will be able to reprise their roles as Ray Steam and Scarlett in the sequel.
It was also officially confirmed that the producers of Steamboy hope to win an Oscar for the movie.
