Astro Boy Joins Robot Hall of Fame
Astro Boy, along with five other robots from science and fiction, will be inducted in Carnagie Melon University's Robot Hall of Fame at a Ceremony in Pittsburgh this fall.
Astro Boy, C3PO, Robby the Robot, Asimo and Shakey the Robot will join Hal 9000, the Mars Pathfinder Sojourner Rover, R2-D2 and Unimate in the hall of fame. The Robot Hall of fame was founded on November 10th, 2003 with the official induction of its first four members.
The Jurors for the Robot Hall of Fame include celebrated science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke and Sim City creator Will Wright, along with numerous scholars, researchers and engineers from around the world.
