Animerica Extra to become shojo-only
posted on by Jonathan Mays
Some titles leave, others join the publication in 2004.
The editorial on page 141 of the August 2003 Animerica Extra notes that, "as of volume 7, Animerica Extra is becoming a shojo-only magazine."
According to the editorial, the August issue is the final one for Marionette Generation, and both Revolutionary Girl Utena and Short Program 2 will be leaving before the end of the year. Steam Detectives and Video Girl Ai will also be moving to a graphic-novel-only format.
Additions to the shojo-only Animerica Extra will include Chiho Saitō's Utena movie manga, as well as Yumi Tamura's WILD COM. Both will begin in the January 2004 issue.
Thanks to John C. Watson for pointing out the editorial.
