"Mysterious" collaboration between Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto expected at Cannes.
ICv2.com has posted that a "mysterious" collaboration between Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto is rumored to be scheduled to be shown at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
In 2001 Daft Punk released four music videos with animation directed by Leiji Matsumoto. The videos, from the Album "Discovery," told a musical story about an outer-space band of musicians that were kidnapped in order to play music on earth. Despite rumours that Matsumoto was going to make videos for all 14 tracks on Discovery, official reports were that he was only scheduled to make four, and only four have been released, with the story incomplete at the end of the fourth video.
It is possible to suppose that the "mysterious" collaboration could be a completion of the story begun in the four videos.
