Not a new series, collected & improved re-print.
We have confirmed with Japanese sources that the editions of Slam Dunk being released on March 19th are not Slam Dunk 2, they are new collections of the previous material with minor edits and higher production quality used in the paper and binding. Details are availabele here. Thank you to Pierre Byrd for first pointing this out.
