I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

    EDIT: 2020-12-31
I have seen two three videos that examine the concept of "classics" from distinctly different perspectives:
  1. Gigguk | Garnt Maneetapho

  2. Mother's Basement | Geoff Thew

  3. Bonsai Pop | Mike ?
EDIT: 2020-04-11
In this video YouTube user Gigguk (Garnt Maneetapho) talks about SAO in the context of gateway anime.

Seen/Read All (public list) Rating
Wolf and the Amber-colored Melancholy (OAV) Very good
Wolf Children (movie) Masterpiece
A sweet, endearing film. Not for young children -- they'll be bored out of their little minds!
Wolf's Rain (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
(The) Wonderland (movie) Excellent (dub & sub)
Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop (movie) Excellent (dub & sub)
I was touched by the scene near 1:07:00 in which Smile is metaphorically trying to heal her heart while trying to glue together the vinyl LP record.
World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman (TV) Decent (dub & sub)
  1. I have no idea what this series is supposed to be about. 6/11
    • Is this supposed to be a harem comedy?
    • Definitely seems ecchi.....
    • An ecchi harem action comedy? (5/11)
    • I'll watch this to the end because I want to see if this turns out to be as bad as I think it will be.....
    • Looks like a 2:1 harem.....
    • The lack of agency for Shizuno Urushibara is a turn off for me. (4/11)
    • So I checked Rebecca Silverman's review; and she seems to think that the source material is better than this adaptation. Oh, brother; this seems like it's gonna be a slog.
    • Now a 3:1 harem? Tell me it ain't so.....
      It is.....
    • Shizuno Urushibara is still lacking in agency..... (5/11)
  2. This ecchi beach episode is too much.....SERIOUSLY. (2/11 | Awful)
  3. Well, this episode wasn't half bad; everyone comes together for the good of each other. I'll call it 8/11 (Good).
    • If the harem becomes 4:1 then I refuse to rate this series higher than 3/11.
    • I dunno; I guess I'll rate this episode at 8/11 (Good).
    • Shizuno Urushibara seems to be establishing some (limited) agency.
  4. Interesting character development for Elena Arshavina; but it's looking like the harem is becoming 4:1. Rating this episode at 9/11 (Very Good).
  5. Ends on a cliffhanger; and the harem isn't present. Rating at 10/11 (Excellent).
  6. All right, I'll admit it: I'm impressed. Everyone came together as a team. Rating at 10/11.
    • A surprisingly humorous pajama party.
    • A cliffhanger; still, I'm reluctant to rate it at 10/11 ─ It barely qualifies at 10/11. Can it even deliver the promised payoff? I have my doubts; and even if it does, it cannot make up for all of those other crappy episodes!
  7. No explanation is provided for the dragon; and that is a fatal flaw. Add in the ridiculous humor, and I'm rating this at 7/11 (Decent).
Surprisingly enough, the average comes to ~7/11 (Decent).
(The) World God Only Knows (TV) Very good (dub), Excellent (sub)
(The) World God Only Knows Season Two (TV) Excellent
(The) World God Only Knows: Four Girls and an Idol (OAV) Very good
(The) World God Only Knows: Goddesses Arc (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
Pros:
Ep.#3 has a pretty funny scene! So does ep.#4! As does ep.#7.
Ep.#9 has me wanting to slap Keima Katsuragi
Ep.#12 -- the last ep. -- ends on an ambiguous note.

Cons:
This series has an epic failure of logic.
In ep.#11 Keima Katsuragi procures a horse on short notice without any explanation. This episode is surreal.
Ep.#12 has a break/flaw in the world setting.

(The) World God Only Knows: Tenri Arc (OAV) Good
(The) World Is Still Beautiful (TV) Masterpiece
A great plot and a great OST make this a Masterpiece for me!
On rewatch:
I'd forgotten about the comedy.
Even though the audio of the Japanese dub is markedly inferior, I still choose to rate this series at 11/11.
Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (TV) Masterpiece
Geoff Thew
  1. The basic setup is given..... (10/11)
  2. The group seems to be coming together! (10/11)
    • Humor is surprisingly effective.....
    • Unexpected sleepover.
      (10/11)
  3. Love is hard for an otaku. (10/11)
    • Did Starbucks sponsor this episode?!
    • Hirotaka Nifuji's younger brother, Naoya, is introduced.
      (10/11)
    • If Starbucks didn't pay for sponsorship, then someone on the writing staff sure loves them!
    • Christmas Eve (10/11)
    • I like the internal monologues.
    • Boys night out & girls night out.
    • The fourth wall is broken.
    • Narumi and Hanako dish on what Hirotaka and Taro would be like as gay lovers. (11/11)
  4. The 2 couples compare & contrast their respective relationships. (11/11)
  5. The 2 couples go to a theme park. I just realized, there have been no girls in miniskirts. +!!! (11/11)
  6. Friendship is a beautiful thing, isn't it? (11/11)
  7. Slice-of-life. Still, pretty good! (10/11)
OAV:Reminiscing about high school.
Check out the manga.
X (movie) Very good
X OAV Very good
I haven't seen the TV series; but I know the general plot points and I think that "Ep.#0" does an acceptable job of id'ing the major plot points.
