I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

    EDIT: 2020-12-31
I have seen two three videos that examine the concept of "classics" from distinctly different perspectives:
  1. Gigguk | Garnt Maneetapho

  2. Mother's Basement | Geoff Thew

  3. Bonsai Pop | Mike ?
EDIT: 2020-04-11
In this video YouTube user Gigguk (Garnt Maneetapho) talks about SAO in the context of gateway anime.

Seen/Read All (public list) Rating
K: Missing Kings (movie) Very good
K: Return of Kings (TV) Excellent
Great graphics and great plot!
Kai Doh Maru (OAV) So-so (edit.dub), Decent (sub)
Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- (TV) Excellent (dub & sub)
  1. Setup.
  2. An elderly Tengu reminisces about Grandpa.
  3. An ayakashi seeks to avoid being sold as a concubine.
  4. Aoi seems to be running an infirmary.....
  5. Aoi makes a round trip.
  6. Aoi opens (with a little help from her friends!) the Moonflower Restaurant
  7. Business at the Moonflower is improving!
  8. Aoi gets kidnapped during an extended shopping trip.
  9. She gets rescued, but what happened to her 5-leaf fan? Apparently the Master had it? An investigation begins.....
  10. So the Tenjin-ya has old-style telephones.....
  11. 2 star-crossed romantics.
  12. Lost children and flavored, shaved ice.
  13. A day off for everyone.
  14. Unwelcome visitors ─ talk about being spirited away.....
  15. Something is going down.....
  16. Dealing with a spoiled princess is always such a pain.....
  17. Orio-ya blows up!
A bit late to be wondering about this, but where was Aoi's father when her mother left?
  1. Father and son reconcile.
  2. Aoi agrees to perform a dangerous task.
  3. I must say that I'm enjoying this burgeoning romance between two adults.....
  4. Drunken toads.
  5. The traitor unsettles Aoi.
  6. The traitor mutes Aoi.
  7. They enter and return from the picture.
  8. And the penultimate episode ends on a cliffhanger!
  9. The "threat" turns out to be a lonely child!
Great graphics/animation, nice story; I'm rating this at 10/11 (Excellent). ADDENDUM:
I cannot believe that this did not occur to me until just now, but, like all Far Eastern cultures, Japanese culture has this bad habit of "visiting the sins of the fathers upon the sons." So ─ in this situation ─ wherein Aoi must atone for her grandfather's sin, the concept is so obvious in Japanese culture that the connection wouldn't even warrant any explanation for a cartoon that is intended for a Japanese audience.
Kamisama Kiss (TV) Good (dub), Very good (sub)
It ended too soon; it needs to be fleshed out -- perhaps the ratings were poor?
Kamisama Kiss (OAV) Good
Shoujo sweetness.
Kamisama Kiss 2 (TV) Excellent
Shoujo sweetness.
Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens (TV) Very good
Kanon (TV 1/2002) Good
Kanon (TV 2/2006) Good
Animegomaniac's take
Kasimasi - Girl Meets Girl (TV) Good (dub), Very good (sub)
Seems to me that the dub occasionally misses the lip flaps.....
(ADR Director: ARVIZU, Ruben)
Kasimasi - Girl Meets Girl (OAV) Excellent (dub & sub)
So; does the girl get the girl?
Kaze no Stigma (TV) Good (dub & sub)
Kekkaishi (TV) Good
Kenka Banchō Otome: Girl Beats Boys (TV) Very good (dub), Excellent (sub)

  1. "One Fist"
8:06| And with three minutes devoted to OP/ED, there's hardly any time to offer the setup!
  2. "The Road to Conquering Shishiku"
At 6:28 there is some sort of promotion going on in a screen in the background. Is it the band playing in the OP/ED?
  3. "The Supremely Stoic Punk"
  4. "Fight in the Rain"
The ending had me grinning from ear to ear like I haven't done in a long time!
  5. "Show 'em What You're Made Of! The Great Study Session"
  6. "The Idol Punk Arrives!"
  7. "Concert Brawl"
Gotta say that I'm impressed with the animation.....
  8. "Alas! Such Kind Fists..."
    Reunions revisited.
  9. "Passionate Feelings, Determined Fists..."
The cut up, self-reflective monologues in each episode are really touching to me. I've personally been in that space ─ both physically and mentally ─ a lot.
  10. "Beyond Our Feelings"
  11. "The Witch Trial Begins"
  12. " 'Taking On All Comers! Love, Fists, and Best Bros' "
There's a contradiction in the last episode ─ also, what's up with all of the computer screens?
  • Because of the last episode's contradiction I am rating it at 10/11.
  • The dub I saw has lip flap issues. (ADR Director: ANGELLE, Felecia)
