I try to add enlightening commentary, but let's face it:
I'm far from perfect.

Seen/Read All (public list) Rating
Ah! My Goddess: The Movie Very good
Ai Yori Aoshi (TV) Excellent (dub & sub)
In standing up to a certain someone, Aoi shows that she is not a doormat!
Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ (TV) Very good (dub & sub)
It's a Harem/Comedy/Slice-of-life.
The funny thing is, I like the anime (TV, not OAV) better than the manga because it did not adapt the entire manga; I did not particularly care how the manga ended. Funny, huh?
Ai Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ Miyuki (OAV) Not really good (dub), So-so (sub)
Plot? What plot?! And what's with the faux southern accent for Tina Foster in the dub?
Air (TV) Good (dub), Very good (sub)
The OP & insert song cause me to bump my rating up a notch to 9/11 (Very Good)
Air In Summer (special) Very good (dub & sub)
Aishiteruze Baby (TV) Masterpiece

Pros:
  • Great ED & nice OP.
  • ep.#16 is particularly affecting
  • ep.#17 ends on a real cliff hanger!
  • ep.#20 is intense
Cons:
  • ep.s#7 & 22 -- 5 yr. olds don't experience romantic love
  • ep.#10 -- 5 yr. olds cannot pick up subtle emotions like that
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime: Nandemonai Takaramono, Kono Page (OAV) Excellent
Ah, romance!
Akame ga KILL! (TV) Very good
Pro: The death count is tragic.
Con:The characters of the antagonists just do not add up! Their motivations just do not make sense!
Akira (movie) Decent
It's a big turn-off for me when people tell me that that you must read the manga in order to understand it.
Akudama Drive (TV) Masterpiece (dub & sub)

Steve Jones is a helluva lot more eloquent than I ever could be!
Alice in Borderland (OAV) Masterpiece

Battle royale tragedy.
Alien Nine (special) Good
See here.
Alita: Battle Angel (live-action movie) Masterpiece

Zac Bertschy wrote:
Ultimately what makes Alita: Battle Angel so special – and a little mindblowing – is that it exists at all. We live in the era of Disney Pixar Marvel Lucasfilm and a bunch of other studios chasing Disney Pixar Marvel Lucasfilm-style dominating success, like a factory for giant-sized, focus-tested, family-friendly genre entertainment that often feels like eating the same bowl of nonthreatening sugary cereal again and again. I love a lot of those films, but seeing Alita: Battle Angel so confidently smeared all over the biggest and most expensive canvas in the world – this weird-ass, unrepentantly strange and violent cyberpunk story dripping with the edgy adolescent blood and grit of the '90s – it felt fresh. I've known this story, these characters, all of which it recreates faithfully, for nearly 25 years, but this movie felt totally unique, somehow like nothing I've ever seen before. In an age where mass-market entertainment can often feel like it's all the same Content™, an insanely confident, ambitious, intense, and proudly weird movie like Alita: Battle Angel is something to be treasured and cherished. I can't wait to see it again.
All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku (OAV) Good
Those wanting a bona fide plot in their entertainment had best temper their expectations.....severely.

Curiously enough, the characters are NOT two dimensional. What this series has is action, and plenty of it! While there isn't much in the way of plot, wherever the plot ─ or what passes for it ─ takes the series (whether it be the beach or outer space), there's more than enough misdirected mayhem to wreck most everything in sight!
