Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto OVA's TV Ad Streamed

2nd OVA about Shū Tsukiyama's high school years ships on December 25

Marvelous began streaming a TV ad on Monday for the Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto video anime. The video outlines the extras that will be available on the different versions of the home video release.

Tokyo Ghoul: Pinto is the second video anime in the Tokyo Ghoul anime franchise, and it will ship on December 25. The OVA will adapt the third story in the Tokyo Ghoul: Hibi novel when Shū Tsukiyama and Chie Hori met when Shū was in high school. Marvelous previously streamed the OVA's first promotional video in July.

The limited first pressing special edition of the home video release will include an original CD and a vocal CD album, and will retail for 4,800 yen (about US$39) for the DVD and 5,800 yen (US$47) for the Blu-ray Disc. The vocal CD album will include 10 tracks including theme songs for the anime series and the Tokyo Ghoul Jail game. The original CD features the "Ghoul Raji" radio show.

The regular first pressing limited edition will include the original CD, and will retail for 3,800 yen (US$31) for the DVD and 4,800 yen (US$39) for the Blu-ray Disc.

Bonus extras for for both versions of the limited first pressing editions also include a specially made booklet, a digipack illustrated by anime character designer Kazuhiro Miwa, and a box that will have illustrations on three sides by Miwa. The home video will also include a digest video from a Tokyo Ghoul √A event on May 31 and audio commentary.

The new OVA will star Mamoru Miyano as Shū Tsukiyama and Megumi Han as Chie Hori. Tokyo Ghoul unit director and Tokyo Ghoul √A episode director Tadahito Matsubayashi is directing the video anime at Studio Pierrot off of scripts by Sōichi Shimada (Tokyo Ghoul: Jack director). Yutaka Yamada is returning from the previous anime in the franchise to compose the music. Sound director Noboru Haraguchi is also returning to the franchise along with animation director Katsuya Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul key animator) and character designers Kazuhiro Miwa and Manabu Kurihara (animation director for the two TV anime series).

The Tokyo Ghoul: Jack OVA received a limited engagement in select theaters in Japan from September 5 to September 18, and then shipped on home video on September 30.
