JK Meshi! TV Anime's Promo Video Introduces Main Characters

The official YouTube channel of the upcoming JK Meshi! series of anime shorts began streaming a promotional video for the anime on Friday. The video introduces the cast and confirms the anime's premiere date of October 5 at 25:00 (effectively October 6 at 1:00 a.m.).

The anime's official website describes the story as an anime about high school girls who have mastered the art of cooking simple, B-class dishes called JK meshi. The three girls — Reina, Ryōka, and Ruriko — are all classmates in their second year of high school. They often get distracted when studying for tests, and when they do, they cook JK meshi. The anime will show how to cook these dishes by showing common ingredients, and simple, easy-to-copy steps so that viewers can also try making the dishes.
The cast includes:
- Natsuko Hara as Reina Saeki
- Nao Fujita as Ryōka Asahina
- Sora Tokui as Ruriko Igarashi
Huzituka is designing the characters and directing the anime. Hiroshi Namiki and Michiko Matsumoto are handling the animation at studios Kyōfū Tomato (Kyotoma) and Office Noble. Takafumi Hosoi is handling music and sound effects.
