Ash: New series, Pokémon XY & Z, and The Strongest Mega Evolution ~Act IV~ will air in a one-hour special on October 29!

The video previews the show's theme song "XY & Z," performed by Rica Matsumoto as Satoshi (Ash). Tomohisa Sakō composed and arranged the song, and also wrote the lyrics.

A new visual also debuted on the show's official website:

The website describes the series' story:

What secret is hidden in the legendary never-before-seen pokémon Zygarde? What is the mysterious phenomenon that occurs only with Satoshi's (Ash's) Gekkōga (Greninja)? What is the aim of Alain and Team Flare, who stands in the way of Satoshi and his friends? When all the mysteries are revealed, the greatest danger the Kalos region has ever seen will appear!

The website also revealed the visuals of the anime's characters (names in parenthesis are the characters' localized English names).

Satoshi (Ash) and Pikachu: Satoshi, the boy who dreams of being a Pokémon Master, and Pikachu, his partner. He aims to participate in the Kalos League, and continues his journey to travel to different Pokémon Gyms.

Serena: Dreams of being a Pokémon Performer, and currently holds the rank of Rookie in the Pokémon Showcase. She wants to reach Master Class and aims to be the Kalos Queen.

Citron (Clemont): The leader of Lumiose Gym. He aims to be an inventor who makes both Pokémon and people happy. He continues his journey with Satoshi.

Eureka (Bonnie): Citron's younger sister. Dreams of being a trainer, and continues his journey with Satoshi.

Team Rocket: An evil organization that works toward world domination. Even in Kalos, they seek to capture Pikachu, and swoop in on Satoshi and his friends through various means. You need to have one eye open with the persistent Team Rocket!

Alain and Lizardon (Mega Charizard X): An assistant of Professor Platane (Sycamore). He meets Fleur-de-lis (Lysandre) during his journey to seek out Key Stones and Mega Stones. Currently, he seeks to become the strongest trainer alongside his partner, Mega Charizard X

Fleur-de-lis (Lysandre): The owner of Fleur-de-lis Labs (Lysandre Labs). An industrialist who wants to find a way to use the energy of Mega Evolution for peaceful purposes. To have Alain help him in this research, he gave him Key Stones and Mega Stones.

Team Flare: A mysterious organization searching for the Zygarde Core. It is clear they aim to use the legendary Pokémon Zygarde for themselves, but to what end is a mystery.

The Pokémon Company International released details on the Pokémon Zygarde's new forms, as well as Ash-Greninja, on Monday. They will appear in the anime.

Zygarde Cell

This stage has been identified as the single Cells that make up Zygarde. Cells do not possess any will or thought processes. They're found scattered throughout the region. Since they can't use any moves, researchers question whether they can even be called Pokémon!

Zygarde Core

At this stage, this aspect of Zygarde is little more than a part of the Pokémon's brain. Unlike the Cells, the Cores are self-aware and can communicate with Cells and other Cores via telepathy. When a change occurs in the local region's ecosystem, Cores have been known to take action.

Zygarde 10% Forme

Zygarde 10% is the Forme that the Zygarde Core takes when it gathers 10% of the Cells nearby. Capable of traveling over 60 mph (100 km/h), it defeats enemies with its sharp fangs and its incredible speed.

Zygarde 50% Forme

This Legendary Pokémon watches over and maintains the local ecosystem. Until recently, this was the only known Forme of Zygarde. In actuality, this Forme only has 50% of the Cells in its structure.

Zygarde Complete Forme

This is the perfect Forme that Zygarde takes when the Core gathers 100% of the Cells. When the ecosystem is under threat, and the Core concludes that the 50% Forme will be unable to deal with it, the Core takes on the Complete Forme. Its power is said to be greater than that of the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal!

Ash-Greninja

Ash's Greninja takes on a mysterious new appearance in the latest season! Ash-Greninja is the form that Greninja takes when the bond between it and Ash is raised to the limit. The strength of their bond changes Greninja's appearance, and it takes on the characteristic look of Ash's attire. This phenomenon is also said to have happened just once several hundred years ago in the Kalos region, but it remains shrouded in mystery.

Zygarde first appeared in the Pokémon games in its 50% form.

The cast and staff of Pokémon XY are returning for Pokémon XY & Z

Pokémon XY & Z will air in a one-hour special with Pocket Monsters XY Tokubetsu Hen: Saikyō Mega Shinka ~Act IV~ (Pokémon XY Special: The Strongest Mega Evolution ~Act IV~) at 7:00 p.m. Another new program, Pokémon no Uchi Atsumaru?, will also premiere on Sunday, October 4 at 8:00 a.m. The hosts will be Shōko Nakagawa and Hyadain.

The ongoing Pokémon XY television anime series airs on TV Tokyo in the 7:00 p.m. timeslot on Thursdays. The series began airing on Cartoon Network in January 2014. Cartoon Network also ran the first three Pokémon: Mega Evolution Specials.
