Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild Add Nintendo Labo VR Goggle Compatibility

Nintendo's fourth Toy-Con cardboard kit for Nintendo Switch is all about virtual reality, and that includes compatibility with two of the console's biggest titles. Nintendo of America announced on Friday that the Labo kit's VR goggles will be compatible with Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Mario will be able to revisit several Kingdoms for a new view and jump through three new mini missions when the VR goggles are equipped. Players can also explore Hyrule all over again with the VR goggles. The virtual reality mode can be accessed from the menu in Breath of the Wild.

The VR modes for both games will launch on April 25 and will be free. The VR Labo sets are slated for release on April 12 as either a starter and two expansion packs or in a complete set. A total of six interactive cardboard Toy-Con builds are planned: VR goggles, the wind peddle, a camera, an elephant, a bird, and a blaster.

The Nintendo Labo: VR Kit – Starter Set + Blaster and complete Nintendo Labo: VR Kit will be available in stores on April 12. The two expansion packs; the Toy-Con Elephant and Toy-Con Camera and Toy-Con Wind Pedal and Toy-Con Bird, will be available for purchase exclusively online. The suggested retail price for the full VR kit is US$79.99 and the starter kit + blaster set is US$39.99. The expansion packs are US$19.99 each.

Nintendo Labo's Variety Kit and Robot Kit shipped on April 20 followed by the third kit on September 14. The Variety Kit's Toy-Con Motorbike added compatibility with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game in June. Since the first two kits debuted, players have been finding unconventional ways to enjoy their cardboard creations.
