Tidus, Yuna's Older Versions Shown During Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Broadcast

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Final Fantasy X fans have vied for a sequel starring Tidus and Yuna ever since Final Fantasy X-2 hit store shelves in 2003. The question whether a Final Fantasy X-3 could ever happen has surfaced again and again. Square Enix staff gave players a little more to chew on about Tidus and Yuna's happily-ever-after with a character design reveal on Thursday.

The image shows older versions of both characters drawn by game character designer and director Tetsuya Nomura. The reveal was prompted by voice actress Marika Kōno who asked staff if there was any consideration for another Final Fantasy X spin-off game. Final Fantasy X game producer Yoshinori Kitase shared the image Nomura drew for the Final Fantasy X -Will- voice drama bundled with the Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster release.

Tidus seems to have adopted a fashion cue from his dad Jecht.

The designs were previously shown at the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Exhibition in Japan last year.

As for an actual Final Fantasy X-3 game, Kitase said the staff involved in the first two games are currently busy with other projects. The answer is similar to the one provided by Final Fantasy brand manager Shinji Hashimoto in 2016. Nomura and Kitase both worked on the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III game and are also tied to the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
