Definitely recommend checking out the anime on Netflix, It's a great series. Plus it adapts the entire manga so you can get the whole story while waiting for the rest of the manga to get released in English.

Watched the anime to just fill in the time, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Anzu really is the star and the story wouldn’t be half as effective without her. It helps that she doesn’t come off as a “I’m not like other girls” type of character that some other romances try to do in order to “subvert” themselves.

Instead, I got the impression that she’s just a confident person who knows what she wants and is content with her life. As a result, the affections she receives from others feels earned. There’s no discrepancies between how she’s written and how the other characters see her.

The only big issue I had was with the ending, which I’ve been told is the same as the manga. Hopefully the anime gets a second season to continue where the manga left off.

That's really how the manga ends too? The anime ending spoiler[felt so open ended that I figured there must be more story somewhere,] but when I went to check Shonen Jump they only had a handful of chapters available. Can't speak for the manga since I didn't actually start it, but the anime itself is surprisingly charming.

Yes from what I know, the anime ends exactly where the manga did. Though the anime does leave open the possibility for a continuation so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I haven't finished the anime quite yet, but the author is currently working on a new title, "Me and my gangster neighbor", that is being translated on Manga Plus. So if a sequel to Romantic Killer were to happen, it wouldn't be anytime soon.

(note: if you heard of the terrible official translation of that title, the first chapter is still extremely a mess, but the subsequent chapters are much better)

It surprised me to find out the manga also ended there, because the anime ending just screamed "read the source material to find out what happens next".

Romantic Killer is now my favorite reverse harem of all time (though admittedly I don't watch many of those), surpassing HameFura, Kiss Him Not Me, Ouran Host Club, and any otomege adaptation. The protagonist, Anzu, is the series greatest strength standing in defiance of all its tropes. Definitely worth a watch/read, though the anime is stuck on Netflix.

The ending makes sense to me.spoiler[ Anzu is completely free of her forced situation. She now has time and the appropriately normal situations to grow and choose her relationships. The premise of being the romantic killer has basically ended at the official manga ending. Regular life with a 4th suitor being Riri is all that is left, leaving her to remain friends or grow beyond friends. Maybe some magically infused hijinks but they have all come to their understandings.]

And as the strong character she is, her future is her own business.
