Machikado Mazoku Magical Comedy Manga Gets TV Anime
posted on by Karen Ressler
Retailer HMV is listing the cover of the March issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Carat magazine, which announces that a television anime adaptation of Izumo Ito's Machikado Mazoku (Street Corner Demon) manga has been green-lit. The cover also lists that the anime will air on TBS and BS-TBS. The magazine issue will formally ship on Monday.
The four-panel manga follows Yūko Yoshida, a 15-year-old girl who awakens one morning with demonic power, and is tasked with defeating a local magical girl. She has horns and a tail, but truthfully less power than an ordinary girl. She struggles to lift the "curse of a 40,000 yen (about US$365) per month living."
The manga launched in September 2014. Houbunsha published the fourth compiled volume on October 25.
Houbunsha announced in December that the magazine's next three issues starting with the March issue will feature "important announcements."
