posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The announcements stated that service will still be available for PlayStation 4 in Japan and for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC in North America. Brian Dunn, senior marketing manager for PlayStation Now, said on PlayStation Blog, "After thoughtful consideration, we decided to shift our focus and resources to PS4 and Windows PC to further develop and improve the user experience on these two devices. This move puts us in the best position to grow the service even further."
Sony announced in September that it was bringing the cloud gaming service to Windows PCs. Sony stated at that time that it was evaluating Mac support for PlayStation Now. PlayStation began streaming a promotional video for the service in August.
Sony fully launched the service on PS4 in North America in January 2015, and on PS3 in May 2015. It launched an open beta for PlayStation Now in Japan last September, but has not yet fully launched the service in the country.
