Sakura's Battle Costumes Added to Giant Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibition
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The upcoming Cardcaptor Sakura exhibition already includes a giant Kero-chan, 200 pieces of artwork, and a delectable menu fit for teatime with Tomoyo. There are still even more details to report for Sakura's big exhibition as organizers announced that replicas of the magical girl's costumes will be available for viewing.
Tomoyo's Siege Atelier section of the exhibit will replicate Sakura's best friend's work space and feature four of Sakura's battle costumes and two additional outfits from the series. One of the displays will be the first time a handmade dress by CLAMP member Mokona will be shown to the public. Mokona is credited with costume design for Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card. The four pieces of artwork were released with the announcement of the costumes, presumably to show which battle costumes are appearing in the exhibit.
An audio guide for the first half the exhibition's run will feature characters Sakura Kinomoto, Syaoran Li, and Kero-chan and the latter half's guide will feature Yue. The characters will explain the exhibit's sights for an added layer of immersion into CLAMP's world.
Another section of the exhibit dubbed "The Beginning Archives" will include commentary from celebrities who enjoy Cardcaptor Sakura. The Mori Arts Center Gallery's Cafe THE SUN will transform into the SAKURA Cafe & Parlor with an original themed menu. Hungry visitors can order the Star Wand Burger, Suppi's Manpuku Curry, a Sakura parfait, or one of the non-alcoholic cocktails.
Original goods will be sold both in the museum shop and at the nearby Roppongi Hills LAWSON convenience store.
