Another marriage announcement in the voice acting industry came to light on Wednesday. Junya Ikeda, the voice of Jō Kido in the Digimon Adventure tri. film series, announced via his management agency that he married a long-time girlfriend. The announcement states that the two married sometime in 2016. He adds that when he first met his wife, she had a child from a previous relationship. Ikeda, his girlfriend, and her 10-year-old daughter talked and decided to become a family.
Ikeda elaborated on why the announcement was delayed until now: the couple just welcomed another child. He wrote, "First of all, my daughter's physical and mental growth was the most important. I want her to have a carefree and calm time. So, even though I refrained from selfishly announcing the news, this year another new family member joined our home. I consulted with my family again and we decided this was the time to make the announcement."
Ikeda ended the letter promising to continue working and asking fans to continue to support him.
Ikeda's other prominent roles include work as live-action actor. He starred in Garo: Yami o Terasu Mono as Zen the Flame Sword Knight and the super sentai series Gokaiger as Gai Ikari/Gokai Silver.
