Nozomi Entertainment Licenses Magic User's Club Anime
posted on by Egan Loo
North American anime licensing company Nozomi Entertainment announced on Saturday that it licensed the Magic User's Club! (Maho Tsukai Tai!) original video anime (OVA) series and subsequent television anime. Nozomi Entertainment also announced that it has scheduled its DVD release of the complete Pita-Ten television anime for February 2, 2016.
Nozomi describes Magic User's Club!:
Beginning as a 6-episode OVA in 1996, the series tells the story of robotic alien invaders and a group of teenage witches that rise up to defend Earth. The OVA was followed by a 13-episode TV series in 1999.
Junichi Satō (Aria the Animation, Sailor Moon) directed the anime at Triangle Staff (Macross Plus, Serial Experiments Lain) and MADHOUSE (Card Captor Sakura, second Hunter x Hunter television anime, Magical Warfare).
Nozomi Entertainment plans to release the entire Magic User's Club! anime franchise next spring on DVD with English subtitles and dubbing. Media Blasters previously released both the OVA series and the television series on VHS video tape and DVD in North America.
