Shonen Jump's Tokyo Theme Park to Close on February 17 After 6 Years
posted on by Egan Loo
J-World Tokyo, the first theme park dedicated to the characters from Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, will close on February 17, 2019. To mark the occasion, the indoor park will hold a "J-World Tokyo Grand Finale" campaign from December 21 until the last day.
The park will also display a chronology of memories that will update throughout the "Grand Finale" campaign, as well as special character greetings. From January 1 until February 17, the park's J-COS! cosplay room will be free for attendees to try on costumes, wigs, and makeup (on a first-come, first-serve basis).
Namco Bandai Group opened the park in Tokyo's Ikebukuro district on July 11, 2013. It spans about 6,168 square meters (about 1.52 acres) on the third floor of the Sunshine City World Import Mart Building. (The space was formerly half of Namco Bandai's NAMJATOWN theme park, which is still operating on the building's second floor.)
