Can't wait to watch this, and hopefully it will be the series that make's Fujiko F. Fujio's works popular in the US. I'm surprised at how violent and brutal it is compared to Doraemon though, that was unexpected.

It looks amazing. They captured the style and vibe perfectly (it almost feels like a Doraemon spinoff).

Reminded me of Birdy the Mighty: Decode somewhat.

Firstly, as a member of the Time Patrol has said in the first chapter of the T・P Bon manga, spoiler[one of the duties of the Time Patrol is to save Person X who 'died' from his/her death. So death has been occasionally depicted in the T・P Bon manga.]
Secondly, since probably Fujiko F. Fujio's most famous work would be Doraemon and Doraemon was serialised in magazines for preschool children and primary school pupils, non-Japanese casual fans of manga may tend to think that Fujiko F. Fujio's manga are 'safe' and for relatively little children. But actually Fujiko F. Fujio also contributed manga to magazines for teenagers and adults.
The first part of the T・P Bon manga was serialised in the Monthly Shōnen World magazine, and the second part and the third part of T・P Bon were carried in the Monthly Comic Tom magazine. Monthly Comic Tom was the successor to/retitled version of Monthly Shōnen World, but it showed a tendency to be a seinen-manga magazine. (Yasuhiko Yoshikazu's Nijiiro no Trotsky was serialised in Monthly Comic Tom.)
So, if you read many manga by Fujiko F. Fujio, it is possible that you see stuff which is not 'safe' in them. For example, see Fujiko F. Fujio's 'Ultra Super Deluxe Man' manga.

Some surprising and disturbing imagery. Looks like an emotional roller coaster and I’m so ready. I absolutely love a dark story with whimsical art.

That was a good trailer. I will be watching. It has a good cast as well. I heard Rikiya's voice even though he's not listed. Considering this is a 70's series, I have a feeling this won't be showing a certain something.
